In what is sure to be received as totally uncontroversial and widely agreed upon, our 25 Best Canadian Actors ranking is out now, just in time for the long weekend. (Barry Hertz, our brave film critic and author of said list, is standing by for your fan mail.) Happy Canada Day.

And shhhhh – A Quiet Place: Day One is in theatres this weekend, but the prequel to the hit franchise is oddly repetitive and, well, doesn’t say much. Consider instead catching a screening of Agnieszka Holland’s Green Border, an urgent drama about the migrant crisis. The film was shot in semi-secrecy and fearlessly exposes the horror of migrant life for those caught between the border of Belarus and Poland. In television, our review of The Bear just landed (season 3 is out now), and you can catch up with what’s opening this weekend here.
